Money raised for the Dicksons in Thailand

March 24th, 2007

Last year, the youth and leaders at 180FM raised $350 to support the Dickson family’s scholarship program for children in Thailand. The funds were recently transferred to the Dicksons, and will go towards supporting a 13 year old boy named Ong who has been coming along to the Dicksons’ church in Thailand over the last few months and is very interested in Jesus.

Please pray for him and his family, that they would come to know salvation through Christ, and thank God that Ong’s mother became a Christian a couple of years ago through a bible study group that the Dicksons ran.

India & Peru mission night

September 9th, 2006

IMG_3424__Medium_.JPG

Thanks to Dilan, Liz, Tracey, Danny, Prills and Brendan from SMBC (and beyond) for visiting 180FM this Friday! We all learnt about what God has been doing through these workers and how they plan to go and spread the good news to a great variety of people around the world.

Photos from the night are up, and you can discuss your thoughts and any questions you have on the forum.

Remember to keep praying for our brothers and sisters as they plan and prepare for entering God’s harvest field in India, Peru, and other exotic places.

180FM is taking a break

August 12th, 2006

For the two weeks of RICE events, 180FM is having a break – that means no 180FM for Friday 18th August and 25th August. Don’t come to church on those nights, there’ll be no one there! Instead, stay at home and pray for your friends that you’re bringing to RICE. Not bringing any friends? Well, time to talk to your friends about it and get them interested.

For more information about RICE, visit their website or their myspace.

180FM will ‘resume’ on September 1 when we have a social.

180FM Social – Ice Skating!

August 12th, 2006

Well some of you may not agree with the exclamation mark at the end, but 180FM is going ice skating on September 1st.

Remember to get your parents to sign the ‘permission form’, which you then need to give to a leader before you can go. We don’t want to get sued. Not that anything bad will happen… Also, it’ll cost $16.

The plan is to meet at church at 6:30 on that Friday, and then leaders and parents will give you a lift to the ice rink, and have you returned to church by 10pm. Try to get to church on time, then you can get the most skating in for your dollar.

Mission and U

July 18th, 2006

180FM will be focussing on mission in term 3, with plenty of talks, activities and Bible studies based around this theme. In the first week (Friday 21 July), we have John Dickson, a missionary from Thailand, visiting and talking to us about his experience over there and about us and mission.

Then for the rest of the term, we’ll continue with the topic of missions, looking at evangelism here and abroad, leading up to RICE evangelistic events in August.

Come along to 180 and be challeneged to think about mission and U.

Fridays 7:30pm at the church hall. Hope to see you there!
